Tennis On A Table

ADAPT YOUR TENNIS TO THE TABLE!

The SIR Team-Training Class – Accelerated “Tennis on a Table” Learning for Total Beginners and Tennis Players

If you can swing a tennis racquet, you are already halfway to playing real table tennis.
The SIR Team-Training Class shows you how to bring your existing instincts
onto the table cleanly, quickly, and with real mechanics from Day One.

What Is the SIR Team-Training Class?

This is not a random “open play” session. It’s a structured, small-group training class where students learn the sport as Tennis on a Table. Using the Smart Innovative Racquet (SIR), players shadow-swing directly behind the coach,
copying the exact rhythm, timing, and stroke mechanics. Instead of guessing how to swing, you simply match the coach stroke for stroke while your progress can be captured on video from the very first session.

Why Tennis Players Learn So Fast with SIR

Traditional table tennis lessons often ignore what tennis players already know.
The SIR method does the opposite it uses your tennis foundation and adapts it to the table:

  • Footwork: You already move your feet we simply shorten and adapt it to a smaller court.
  • Stroke Mechanics: You understand swings, spin, and follow-through SIR refines it for compact, efficient strokes.
  • Timing & Rhythm: You’re used to reading the ball now you learn a faster, closer version of the same feel.
  • Shadow-Swing Training: Students stand behind the coach, mirroring each stroke as it’s demonstrated.
  • Optional Filming & Review: With a smartphone in SIR, your strokes can be recorded for progress tracking.

How the Class Works

  1. Warm-Up & Footwork: Light movement, basic stances, and simple “tennis-to-table” adjustments.
  2. Shadow-Swing with SIR: Students line up behind the coach and copy forehand, backhand, and basic drills.
  3. Rhythm & Timing: The coach sets a clean rhythm so players feel the stroke instead of overthinking it.
  4. Live Ball Introduction: Once the motion looks clean, we introduce actual ball contact and simple rallies.
  5. Progress Check: Optional filming and review, so players can see exactly how far they’ve come in just one session.

Location: West 99th Near Broadway, New York City

Sessions are held at West 99th, just off Broadway the same neighborhood where legendary player Marty Reisman helped keep the sport alive in his famous ping-pong parlor. Today, SIR brings that spirit forward with a modern, tech-enabled training system.
